Designer's Best Bids

Every summer we host interior designers to participate in our Designer's Best Bids series. Designers decorate one of our E street windows using items from our weekly Metro auction merchandise inventory. Each item featured in the window is then auctioned off the following week in our weekly Tuesday Metro auction. It is a great way to see how you can easily furnish your home from our weekly assortment of furniture and decorative art.

This week we had the pleasure of hosting the talented Bill and Susan Byrne of the Byrne Gallery. This brother and sister duo have an art gallery in Middleburg, Virginia as well as an interior design business that specializes in art consulting www.byrnegallery.com

Weschler's: What got you started in the art business?

Bill & Susan: "Our mother was an artist and art teacher. We knew we would have our own business one day. A gallery seemed like the right choice. We are happy working together."

Weschler's: What do you love most about what you do?

Bill & Susan: "We love meeting new artists and discovering their thought process and the way they approach their medium. It is all about the ideas."

Weschler's: Do you shop at Weschler's for your business or for yourself?"

Bill & Susan: "We shop at Weschler's for both our homes and our business."

Weschler's: What is your favorite item you purchased at Weschler's?

Bill & Susan: "We got a car. A BMW convertible."

Weschler's: Around how many things have you purchased at Weschler's?

Bill & Susan: "A ridiculous number of things. An entire thick file folder of items. Almost every lighting fixture in our homes"

Weschler's: Why do you shop at Weschler's?

Bill & Susan: "There is tremendous quality and value and the people are warm and wonderful as well as experts. We feel great whenever we are there!"
