Designer's Best Bids

This week our designer for our Designer's Best Bids series is Rafael Fuentes of Rafael Fuentes, ASID Decoration & Interior Design. I had the pleasure of working and discussing design with Rafael, who also teaches interior design classes at NOVA.

Checkout Rafael's elegant design below as well as a Q&A with the designer.

All items will be auctioned at our Metro auction on July 15.
Please contact megan@weschlers.com for more information.

Designer Q&A
Weschler's: How did you get involved with interior design?
Rafael: "In college, first year as an architectural student, I realized interior design has a very personal and significant role in improving the built environment and enhancing quality of life."
Weschler's: What do you love most about your job?
Rafael: "Providing design solutions for my clients, finding their aesthetic preferences and incorporating them in their homes in a cohesive and elegant space; this is very satisfying."
Weschler's: What is your style and what makes you a unique interior designer?
Rafael: "I love mixing traditional and modern, I like traditional furnishings for their elegance and lines and modern or contemporary art for their color and aesthetic strength. When I mix them the space comes to life."
Weschler's: Do you shop at Weschler's? If so, do you shop at Weschler's for your business or home?
Rafael: "I am using Weschler's as often as I can. An interesting piece of furniture or a painting brings a tremendous amount of character to the room."
Weschler's: What is the best item you purchased at Weschler's? What is the best deal?
Rafael: "I find pieces that are cover page material; antique reproductions, area rugs, art and accessories, always on display and at affordable prices."
